We read every openly published US cash prescription price list in full. Three exist without a sign-in, and Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs alone covers 746 of the 751 drugs they price.
The finding in four lines:
Most pharmacy price comparisons rank chains by what a basket of drugs costs. This page asks the question that comes first: which chains let you see a cash price at all, without signing in, calling, or walking in. The answer is three programmes, and the size of each list is the finding. For a ranking of where to fill, see our cheapest pharmacy for prescriptions guide; this page does not rank.
Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs publishes its whole price list through a public pricing API that anyone can query: 2,383 product rows on 19 October 2026, each with a per-unit price, the $5 cash dispensing fee and a shipping figure. It is the most complete public price list in US retail pharmacy by a wide margin, and it is built to be read by machines as well as people.
Walmart publishes its Prescription Program as a downloadable list, effective 24 March 2025: "30-day supply of medications starting as low as $4" and "90-day supply of medications starting as low as $10", with tiers above that. Walmart's page adds that prices "may vary by state including, but not necessarily limited to, CA & MN", and the programme PDF excludes North Dakota.
Amazon RxPass publishes its eligible-medication list on its own page, with one price for all of it: "$5 a month, no matter how many meds you take", for Prime members, excluding Medicaid and CHIP enrollees and shipments to California and Washington.

Cost Plus covers 746 of the 751 drugs; Walmart 78; RxPass 57. The two shorter lists are curated: Walmart's carries common generics at fixed tiers ($4, $9, $15, $24 for 30 days, per its PDF), and RxPass covers "50+ commonly-prescribed medications" for one flat fee. Cost Plus is the opposite design, a cost-plus formula applied to everything it stocks, which is why its list is long and its prices vary drug by drug.
The overlap decides how much comparison shopping is even possible. For 639 of the 751 drugs there is exactly one public price to look at; for 94 there are two; for 18 there are three, and those 18 are everyday maintenance generics such as amlodipine, lisinopril, losartan and sertraline. A reader whose drug is outside those 18 cannot compare three public prices, however hard they look, because the lists do not carry it.
For most drugs, the honest comparison is one public price against whatever your local counter quotes, not three lists against each other.
Costco keeps per-drug prices in its online pharmacy at rx.costco.com, an app that loads only in a browser; there is no list to download, and RxGrab's programme matrix records it as a lookup rather than a published list. Costco's strength is that the pharmacy serves non-members: our Costco no-membership lookup guide covers the access rules (verified 30 May 2026).
Walgreens lists an "Rx Savings Finder" in its pharmacy menu, a per-drug lookup; we found no published Walgreens price list.
Sam's Club publishes prices for Plus members only. Its price-check page states that "Program prices are not available to the general public", that they are "limited to a 30 day supply", and that they cannot be used with insurance or any government programme. The headline offer is generous: Sam's says Plus members get "Select 30-day supplies of generics for $0 and 600+ generics for $10 or less", with the free tier priced at $2 in Arizona, California and Minnesota.
CVS does not publish a flat public price list; prices appear per account in the CVS app or on cvs.com, as our CVS price lookup guide records (verified 30 May 2026). cvs.com returned errors to every page we requested on 19 October 2026.
Three programmes that readers still search for have no current official list that RxGrab could find on 13 October 2026: Publix free medications (no current list published by Publix), Meijer free antibiotics (meijer.com pharmacy pages carry no free-prescription list; only third-party copies from 2006 to 2019 exist) and the Kroger Rx Savings Club (no current official drug list; only 2018 third-party reproductions). A page quoting any of these lists as current is quoting an old copy.
Hi, I'd like a cash price quote, not using insurance. Drug: [name], strength: [mg], quantity: [30 / 90]. 1. What is the total I would pay at the counter? 2. Does that include the dispensing fee? 3. Is there a lower price with a discount card or your own club? 4. Is that price the same for a 90-day supply? Thank you. Can I get your name, in case the price differs when I pick it up?
Your drug is on a public list
Compare the lists first
The RxGrab pharmacy finder shows every Cost Plus, Walmart and RxPass price for that drug side by side.
You take several common generics
Check the 18-drug overlap
Amlodipine, lisinopril, losartan, sertraline and 14 others are on all three lists, so a flat RxPass fee, a Walmart tier and a Cost Plus price can all be compared.
You are a Sam's Club Plus member
Check the Plus price before anything else
Sam's says some 30-day generics are $0 for Plus members; it cannot be combined with insurance.
Your drug is on no list
Phone two counters with the script
Ask for the total cash price including the dispensing fee, for your exact strength and quantity.

Status describes how a cash price is published, not what it costs. Rows checked 13 October 2026 come from RxGrab's programme matrix (_meta.not_sourced); rows checked 19 October 2026 were re-read on the chain's own page that day.
How we built this page: we read the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs pricing API, Walmart's Prescription Program list and Amazon's RxPass eligible-medication list in full, matched them by active ingredient into RxGrab's programme matrix (verified 13 October 2026), and re-read each chain's own page on 19 October 2026. We did not buy these medicines for this page; where a price is only shown after sign-in or to members, we say so rather than estimate it.
This is the dataset behind the RxGrab pharmacy finder, and the finder can be embedded on another site with attribution from the embed page; licensing terms for the matrix are on our licence page. Background on why brand and generic prices diverge is in our brand vs generic price gap study, and the Walmart list itself is broken down in the Walmart $4 list.
Three US programmes publish cash prescription prices without a sign-in: Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs (a public pricing API with 2,383 product rows), Walmart's Prescription Program list, and Amazon RxPass's eligible-medication list. Costco and Walgreens offer per-drug lookups, and Sam's Club shows prices to Plus members only (checked 13 to 19 October 2026).
In RxGrab's programme matrix (verified 13 October 2026), 746 of the 751 drugs with an openly published US cash price are on Cost Plus Drugs, 78 are on Walmart's list and 57 on Amazon RxPass. Only 18 drugs appear on all three.
No. CVS does not publish a flat public cash price list; prices appear per account in the CVS app or on cvs.com, as RxGrab's CVS lookup guide recorded on 30 May 2026. cvs.com could not be read on 19 October 2026.
Sam's Club's Plus member prices are not public. Its price-check page says program prices are not available to the general public, are limited to a 30-day supply, and cannot be combined with insurance or government programmes (read 19 October 2026).
RxGrab found no current official Kroger Rx Savings Club drug list on 13 October 2026, only third-party reproductions from 2018, so any list quoted as current should be checked with a Kroger pharmacy.
